Recent Law Changes
In 2013, the Ohio Legislature passed changes to the requirements of permits. The State of Ohio can only issue permits on Interstates and State Routes. Local jurisdictions must issues permits for their local roads. Under the guidelines of a regional heavy haul permit, both the state and local governments are REQUIRED to issue a permit, regardless of type of load, in writing, when such request is received in writing. This covers any type of vehicle, anywhere no matter what is being carried.
